Eric Hoffman serves as interim Chief Counsel for Employment and Litigation in the Legal Affairs unit of Georgia Tech’s Office of the General Counsel. In this role, he provides strategic legal guidance on employment, civil rights, and litigation matters, including nondiscrimination, accommodations, and compliance with federal and state laws. Eric works closely with Institute leaders to ensure fair, effective, and legally sound employment practices across Georgia Tech.
Before joining Georgia Tech, Eric worked in student affairs within the University of Maryland system and later served as Assistant Dean and Director of Student Conduct at Emory University. After earning his law degree, he practiced education and employment law at Hall Booth Smith P.C. and Littler Mendelson P.C. in Atlanta.
Eric holds a J.D. (summa cum laude) from Georgia State University College of Law, an M.S. in Higher Education Administration from Old Dominion University, and a B.A. from Pennsylvania State University. Outside the office, he enjoys playing tennis, following his favorite sports teams, and traveling with his family.
